What does he do?

Michael oversees communications, marketing and design (graphic, POP merchandising and event design) as well as licensing, trademarks and drafting proposals and contracts. He supervises the production of all digital and print assets to ensure the SHG brand is infused into everything we do. He also creates (and personally tests) SHG’s Featured Show Cocktails and curates our selection of food and beverage offerings.   

How did he get here?

Michael came to Sweet Hospitality Group in 2008 with an eclectic background in theater, concessions, labor relations and customer service management. His prior experience includes six years in movie theater concessions and five years at Actors’ Equity Association where he was National Director of Membership. This, combined with his studies in design and passion for food and beverage, made SHG the perfect fit for him. 

Major SHG accomplishments?

In 2013, Michael set off on a mission to elevate SHG’s cocktail program which led to the “batched mixology” process that allows us to offer high quality craft cocktails at even our busiest theaters today. Those drinks have been featured by various media outlets including Variety and The Wall Street Journal. He also curated a 100% locally sourced menu for our bar at Williamstown Theater Festival which is now used as a template for regional theaters.     

What makes his life SWEET?

Exploring the bar and restaurant scene of new cities, enjoying a quality cocktail (that someone else made) and binging sci-fi shows, drag videos and just about anything else the streaming age has to offer – have to keep the pop culture references fresh for new drinks and designs!
