Rosé has been one of the hottest wine trends for the last few years. Bottles in every shade of pink imaginable and from every major wine-making region can be found at bars and liquor stores everywhere. But what can be more refreshing than a well-chilled glass of rosé? Make it FROZEN! Enter…Frosé!
Frosé is lightly sweetened rosé wine blended with fruit and a little vodka for extra kick! There’s no better way to enjoy a summer afternoon or evening with friends and family than with a chilled, delicious frozen cocktail (or two.) With recent sizzling summer temperatures, Frosé will keep you cool in style. It’s perfect for an intimate summer cocktail party.
SHG has recently started serving Frosé, but it’s also super simple to make at home. Most traditional recipes use strawberries, but raspberries, watermelon or peach are also great additions. You can also play with adding different spirits and liqueurs. Get creative and experiment – you can always make more! Below is a basic home blender recipe you can adjust to your taste.
Basic Blender Frosé
½ bottle Rosé
1 cup strawberries (or red/pink fruit of your choice. We like a mix of berries and peach, but it’s your Frosé – make it your way!)
2 oz vodka (or other light/pink spirit)
2 tbsp. simple syrup (or to taste)
1 tbsp. lemon or lime juice
2 cups ice (you can add more or less to get the texture you prefer)
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Taste, make any adjustments you’d like and blend again if necessary.
- Pour into a tall glass and enjoy!
